Several months ago, my husband got frustrated with me and demanded I get my hearing checked as I was asking him to repeat himself constantly. My doctor referred me to this branch of Bow River Hearing where Laurie and Karen, both super friendly and helpful, took care of me every step of the way, supporting me through the process of the exams. I was recently the recipient of the "Gift of Hearing" program; a program I had no idea they even had! The audiologists recommend patients and a lucky few are chosen for the gift of free top-of-the-line hearing aids. From testing, to selection, to fitting, the team at Bow River hearing has made this a very positive experience - being able to hear again, after not realizing just how bad it was, is simply wonderful!

My wife was selected for a complimentary hearing aid by the team at the Bowness location. The service and people are amazing, they were very thorough and spent as much time as needed to answer all of our questions. So far the hearing aid has helped immensely for both my wife and myself, it's nice to not be repeating myself all day, and my wife loves being able to hear from both sides. Overall a Fantastic experience.

My experience at the Airdrie Store was absolutely without question great ,Both Heather and Shannon are very good at their profession, Heather was so helpful and under standing of my problem , I can only give them number one and first class operation.

Seven and a half months into my hearing aid experience, and still a very happy customer! My family has greatly enjoyed a more "present" father and husband! Have found the rechargeable battery system a very workable daily routine and have experienced the stress free advantage of not wondering if my aids will have full power for a full day! David, Laurie, and the whole team at Bow River are delightful and have given the best of service in consultation, installation, and follow-up care! I am truly a satisfied customer - amazed at God's gift of hearing and the skills of professionals like David and team who so ably keep that gift of hearing alive!!! Very gratefully, Peter

Up until just recently, I have had the great pleasure of dealing with Lori, Nikki, and David at Bow River Hearing. Lori's customer service is second to none, and I have never felt better served than when in her capable hands. David's knowledge is wide and abundant. Nikki is friendly, smiles easily and is a pleasure to do business with. It is easy to see and sense that they are a Customer Centric organization, and give their customers great value, in equipment, knowledge and customer service. (They got great candies too). My departure as a customer was due simply to convenience for me based upon where I work and live, but given the opportunity I would not hesitate to deal with them again. 5 Thumbs up.

I phoned Lori and made an appointment for the first available time slot to adjust my hearing aid with David. My family and co-workers had encouraged me to do so because I was increasingly hearing the words in conversations and meetings but not understanding everything discussed...I was missing bits and pieces-not good. I hadn't seen David since about 2011, he explained that he had a new approach...WOW! He spent about 2 hours on me: made have lunch with him, thoroughly retested my hearing, explained everything-made sure I understood ALL MY OPTIONS. Honestly, I arrived quite pessimistic, my hearing had taken a drastic turn for the worse...when I left, my frame of mind had done a 180 degree turn to "fairly optimistic", for my situation. On the drive back to work, with my freshly adjusted hearing aids, I heard all sorts of sounds that I'd not heard in a couple of years! I highly recommend David and the staff at Bow River Hearing! Their new approach made me feel like I was getting professional advice from a family member...AWESOME! D.R.(Dave) Mah

With a cozy office environment and friendly welcoming staff, our first visit to a hearing specialist was very informative and educational. Although our session went over the scheduled time, we were provided the necessary tools in which to make important hearing health decisions. We felt that our questions were addressed and that our needs were met.

I went to this place because of the good reviews here. So far my experience has gone from bizarre to excellent. I can say they are very responsive to feedback and try to make things right. Customer oriented. I am very glad to have them as my hearing aid specialist. The people are very friendly and want you to be happy with their service. Also the testing room has pleasing and relaxing views of the bow river. It can help if you are getting a little stressed to relax. And the staff brought me herbal tea. It took some tries and patience but Dr. Lee was able to get a fitting for the lyric hearing aid in both ears. This is the kind of hearing aid you wear in the ear canal for months at a time, 24/7, and then replace. You can adjust the volume and put it to sleep with a magnetic wand. It takes some adjustment to get used to wearing the device. So far I'm on day 2. I love my better hearing so far. Hopefully in a few days I'll not notice it in my ear anymore. I've had hearing loss in mid and high frequencies for quite a few years. Over that time I learned to compensate by lip-reading, also called speech-reading. As long as I could see the person's face, I could hear what they were saying. (And I used closed captioning on the TV.) As my hearing loss worsened, these adaptations weren't enough. Listening with my full concentration and lip-reading to fill in the blanks was exhausting and I still had to ask people to repeat themselves or speak more slowly. So, I decided to get hearing aids. I went to a clinic recommended by the ENT that I saw years before. The clinic recommended Phonak hearing aids which I bought. Unfortunately, the hearing aids did not improve my hearing. I could tell they were on but there was very little improvement in volume or clarity. I returned to the clinic many times over the following year but the adjustments made little or no improvement and the audiologist said I should get new hearing aids. I thought there must be something more serious wrong with my ears so I asked my family doctor for a referral to Alberta Health Services audiology dept for a hearing test (which is a free appointment). The conclusion from the AHS audiologist was that my hearing aids just needed adjusting. I also called Phonak, gave them details from my AHS audiogram and asked them if I had the correct hearing aids for my hearing loss. They said yes. So, back I went to the original clinic and had my hearing aids adjusted again. Not much improvement so I returned several more times for more adjustments. At each appointment the audiologist tried to sell me new hearing aids. But, based on the AHS audiologist and the Phonak rep I talked to on the phone, I didn't need new hearing aids, I just needed my current hearing aids adjusted. This situation was very frustrating. I had almost given up hope on ever hearing properly. Then, someone suggested Bow River Hearing on 16 Ave NW. I thought it might be worth a try so I called them for an appointment to adjust my hearing aids. Right away, at the very first appointment I was impressed with the hygiene precautions David, the audiologist, took with my hearing aids. (My old clinic never cleaned their hands before touching my hearing aids or my ears.) David also took the time to ask key questions and explain things to me. He adjusted my hearing aids but, they did not seem to work any better. So, I went back for a second appointment. It was at this second appointment that the miracle happened. It turns out, the computer program that the original clinic installed in my Phonak hearing aids was NOT the specialized Phonak program. So, the sound quality was poor and the adjustments made little difference. At the second appt, David replaced the original computer program with the specialized Phonak program. Immediately, I could hear clearly. Wow! In fact, I'm tempted to ask him to turn them down a bit. So, if you're not getting good volume and clarity out of your hearing aids, or if your clinic is pressuring you into buying new hearing aids, I strongly recommend you make an appointment with David at Bow River Hearing. He's got the expertise to investigate and try different solutions so you can get the most out of your current hearing aids. David accomplished in 2 appointments what my original clinic could not accomplish in over a dozen appointments !

I have been a client at Bow River Hearing for 18 months, and am totally happy with the service they provide. On a recent visit, I was having problems in certain situations hearing people. That's all David needed to hear and he did a total reassessment of the settings in my hearing aids and I am even more ecstatic now. There is nothing worse than being in a crowded room and you can't hear anybody. Thanks David and crew at Bow River Hearing for improving my quality of life.

I cannot say enough about how Amazing the service was at Bow River Hearing. I wouldn't even call it service, because to me it felt like I was family. As soon as I walked into the office I was greeted and asked if there was anything they could get me to eat or a snack while I waited for a few minutes. Now I've been to MANY doctors offices and different specialist appointments over my 27 years, and I've gotten good treatment, but this was different. Something about the welcoming and how they treat you, set them apart from all the others. While I waited I had a snack and a drink and I was sitting there amazed. It was an instant feeling when I walked into the office that I just can't explain. When I went in for my appointment I felt like I had already known them because they made me so comfortable and feel like I was family. They explained everything as they went, answered all my questions and said they want to do the same for me as they would for their family..as in take the best care of them and get some answers for the concerns I was there for. From the moment I walked into the office, til the moment I walked away..well and after haha..I was stunned and amazed. I would recommend absolutely everyone I know to go to the same office if they were to have some hearing concerns or even just need a hearing test for work. Absolutely Amazing!!
