Hearing Aid Practitioner
Hi, my name is Lacey. I joined the Bow River Hearing family in 2015 as a Hearing Aid Practitioner.
My favourite aspect of my job is seeing the familiar faces of patients as well as having the opportunity to meet new patients and learn about their stories. I am determined to find a personalized solution for each patient to the best of my abilities!
One of my most memorable experiences so far was when a patient came in with her family for her first hearing aid fitting. Before we turned on the hearing devices, we were able to show the family an estimation of how well the patient was currently hearing on a screen. Once we turned the hearing aids on for the very first time, we were then able to see the difference the hearing devices made, both on the screen as well as on the patient’s face. I am thankful to have been part of this experience and am excited to be part of many more in the future.
I believe that my job serves a very important purpose; to help patients improve their hearing as well as give them the confidence that may have been lost from their difficulty with hearing. My favourite part of the job is problem-solving. Trying to find the best possible solution for each of my patients is both fun and rewarding.
One fun fact about myself is that I love to play the guitar as well as write and sing songs. Being able to hear music is such an important part of my life; this is part of the reason I am so passionate about my job and the work that I do. Helping others improve their hearing and quality of life is one of the most wonderful and meaningful parts of my day.
